Tribal tattoos being natural?

I have an odd question.. its not a fake-out or lying for attention or anything of that sort, if you don't believe me then go away I don't want your input anyway. My husband has a dream since he was little (about 2 or 3) that he was on horseback with armor and such, carrying a sword and killing people. In the dream he has these tattoos, they are red markings similar to an ancient Japanese tribal. (We have done extended research on them) He has since gotten the tattoos on his left arm started (when he was about 15) In the dream they extend over his entire body. In the dream he gets stabbed in the left shoulder blade by a long sword and has to pull it out. This is the wierd part, he woke up from the dream the other night and had a wound similar to a burn, but in the shape of a stab wound in his left shoulder exactly where the sword stabs him in the dream.. He cannot reach that part of his back to do it by accident, we also noticed if we shine a flashlight at the right angle, he has small indentions that look like cuts in his skin where his tattoos are in the dreams. We traced the lines with a marker and they go down both arms and back down his legs in an intricate design. It's very strange, are there any accounts of people dreaming about tattoos and they have them naturally?
