Cross country tips (20 characters)?

This summer, I'm going to a horseback riding camp in Vermont. It specializes in dressage, jumping, and cross country. I'm really excited, but I've never done cross country before. They get a lot of kids who have never done cross country, apparently, but does anyone have some beginner tips for me?
